Yes, what you described in brokering, which requires a license.On the other hand, you can do what people call "wholesaling", which is to actually buy the property yourself (put it under contract) and then assign your interests in that property to a cash buyer in exchange for an "assignment fee".

Maybe my view is skewed, but I see a non relative home occupant who wants to have as much free "time" in a property he doesn't own before its foreclosed on so he can live rent free while he finishes the work on his own home.
