My husband and I are working on long distance deals in Arizona, where we have one rental property and we plan to do some investing here in California as well.With being new here, we are looking for some connections to share ideas and motivate one another. 

However, I went in another direction instead of waiting for another one of those to come along, or to do a long distance version.

The ideal location for me would be within walkable distance to the Blue Line, anywhere between the Loop and O'hare, with a focus on Logan Square. 

Is there any way I can negotiate with a builder to see if he/she can demo the portion of the detached garage overlapping into the lot I'm selling (this is just a workshop that was added onto the garage & is hanging in the exact distance I need demo'd to be able to sell this) , while patching up the detached garage properly so it is still usable. 

Any advise on how to manage from a distance, from those thinking it may be a viable option would be appreciated.Thank you

There is a newly expanding commercial and industrial development set to stimulate the local economy, but most citizens commute to the larger cities to work.

The sale is as is and will be our first long-distance property that we will not see before placing an offer.

I found this community a few weeks ago after listening to @David Greene's book--Long Distance Real Estate Investing. 

I don't know if long distance investing is for me, however, I can't complain if it's as straightforward as me paying taxes and getting it in my name.
