I asked them why that is, and they said they don't know if it is all for rent or other delinquencies, so they put it in box 3, but I can just treat it as rent.Problem is, Turbotax does not allow me to link an amount in box 3 to a specific property in Schedule E. 2 hours on the phone with TurboTax support didn't really help, and a call to the IRS led me to an agent who had no idea what to do, and directed me to pre-recorder generic information that was not helpful at all.

I am embarrassed to say that I had no idea what rents were going for, but I knew from shopping for my own house that the price was at least half of what everything else I looked at, even in the depressed market.

I also bailed out a young group of investors who had no real money but had very good selling talents and they stacked about 25 of these up with no real reserves and once one stopped paying rent it snow balled the wrong way.. they got turned into the AG I came in and paid some off sliced and diced a few more for them and kept them from really getting in more trouble than they already were..

He then called my buyer agent and told my agent that the last "buyer" was also his client (he was representing both sides) and couldn't get a loan due to lack of "official" income (turns out the former buyer owns pizzeria and had NO INCOME for 2020/2021, which the lister knew from the beginning).

I had No knowledge that this loan ( it’s for a 6 family) did not have an extension period with it and they only had 30day lock periods before it would float.
