I've had an STR before and ended up moving into it and renting out my last house due to COVID shutting us down temporarily.I was curious to find out if location was more important than amenities. 

They need to be done at some point and it does seem like a safety issue.I imagine they are painted shut?

Think of a deserving person who might benefit from some cheap rent....maybe while they save for down payment, maybe while they're in school, maybe while they're starting a church, something like that.

Here's the NPR broadcast about the City of Orlando shutting down all the airbnbs using taxpayer money under the guise that it's intrusive to residents. 

We also shut it down for the winter so it's subject to <20 deg F for many days.Some of our neighbors Lake-houses are built on ground level slabs & have hydrostatic moisture penetration giving them issues with their floor coverings.

If a tenant is screaming at me about something, I just shut up, let them say what they want to say, and then address their issue in a  professional manner.

Sounds like your saying they don't address it one way or the other.Check with your city officials to see if it is legal or not.You don't want to go down a path that would get you shut down and in trouble. 

There are so many illegal dispensaries and cannabis operations running right now, that there is not enough law enforcement personnel to shut down these shops/operations.

We like a lot of others on here experienced the rash of cancellations from Covid starting in March and we completely shut down our cabin for the month of April so as to be good community citizens when the local leaders asked people to stay home.
