We are planning on using a property manager FWIW4) Thoughts on purchasing a rental outside of Charlotte - My first thought was to look only in the 485 belt, but supply continues to seem limited and demand remains high. 

I finally gave up, went outside and sat on the front steps waiting for them to finish their tour. 

I researched areas outside of our comfort zone, built a team in alternate markets and now own and grow rentals in Jacksonville, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, we will be in Texas by September. 

Under contract for my first deal (outside of my first home that turned into rental) and its a wholesale deal on a small home (plus the lot next to it) in Greensboro, NC.

I work in software sales and recently purchased a primary residence in NYC, but I don't see this being a practical place to build a portfolio long term.I grew up in Wisconsin just outside of the Twin Cities area.

In my experience outside of real estate the best returns in a profession come from seeking excellence and the chance to learn and refine a practice.

Sharing in case it would be helpful to meet folks outside of the Tri-County area and still get a mix of learning, networking, and accountability.

The problem is that banks don’t think outside of the box.
