I figure I still have a few months to do some homework and decide if I want to get involved, but if I do, I know I'm not ready for the commitment yet of being a landlord, though that would be the eventual goal.

We've got kids at home so still need space for them, and the requisite family dog.

I did my homework after NV into GA & NC market.

The city recently decided to create it's own school district which should be a draw to residents, but so far we have not rented to any tenants with kids.

At that point I will consider a combo of selling/holding in order to meet the ultimate goal of purchasing  a retirement home in my beloved home town of Santa Cruz California to be close to my family again while maintaining a seasonal property back on the east coast to be able to spend time with my kids and extend family here.I am looking forward to learning more and meeting others who share similar interests here on BP!

Basically, do their families want to cut their kids housing expenses in half?
