Im trying to learn as much as I can.. and going to the courthouse and spending the time getting each case records is a good learning experience.

I'm looking into getting a certification program, but before going down that road and spending money I wanted to get some advice.Right now I want to learn about real estate investing- using other peoples money at a company.

People won't mind spending their time mentoring you if you bring questions of value.

Totally agree with Robert, local REI group can provide much better education and you don't have to spend too much money.

Hey @Martin Zawarski - We believe that real estate investors shouldn't have to spend a fortune to learn the business.

I plan on spending a lot of time reading blogs and watching podcast.

You'll spend a lot of time dealing with issues/chasing rent.

I realize there are tons of resources out there- but as a beginner learning the game, its hard to top being able to physically spend time in the area and be able to physically go and see properties before putting offers in.

My first tenant was through Section 8, and each year I was spending money to fix holes in the walls and abuse to the appliances so that the unit could pass the annual inspection.
