In So-cal a few thousand dollars for interior/exterior paint and baseboard upgrades could easily add 3x the cost of the improvement to your value.

I purchased the property for only $200,000 and figured I could not loose.Repairs included finishing the driveway with concrete, pouring a walkway to the front step, solving a crawl space water retention issue, installing new hardwood flooring, replace all "gold" fixtures with brushed nickel, interior and exterior painting, replacing the septic pump and replacing light fixtures. 

The HOA covers the exterior and snow removal .

The fact that it's called "crowdfunding" is simply because they are gathering investments from multiple individuals as opposed to 1-2 separate institutional investors.  

The exterior wall bumps in at weird angles, but the ceiling continues in a straight line outdoors, if that makes any sense.

Secondly it looks like you have two windows located on your exterior wall.  

This is what causes those instruments to have redemption terminating process that look more like foreclosure opposed to simply re-taking possession through eviction.  

These are closer and keep the financial/relocation hell of moving to a relative minimum as opposed to venturing further out.

Another point to consider is, investing in single family with 3 bedroom 2 bath can work very well as opposed to a condo which can be pretty volatile.Hope this helps.Vish
