My suggestion, is you visit all these potential locations with your family, and see which area calls to you, which areas you can see yourself enjoying, and allow the STR/MTR strategy take the second seat to your enjoyment and lifestyle vision for you and your family.

Review your construction draw agreement in the executed loan documents.

If you did not then I see absolutely no reason why the complaint against the wholesaler's agent (I won't give him the credit of being referred to as a "buyer") should prevent you from re-listing your house.If you did have a listing agreement then I would suggest consulting a DIFFERENT broker as @Don Konipol suggested.

We have been using AirDNA data and their suggestions for up and coming STR markets.

I suggest you call the underwriter directly or contact them via the email contact provided in the policy and pose the question. 

Online reviews can be a good place to start to get a general feel for a lenders reputation and consistency. 

Research reviews about Padsplit and similar sites, they have the same set up.
