Rick Bassett Applicants with undisclosed significant other
18 January 2016 | 7 replies
Maybe it's the way that the housing authority in our area works or our local culture but it seems that the vast majority of the applicants that we get who are on public assistance almost always fail to disclose that their spouse or significant other will be living with them and we generally find out that they aren't being truthful during the screening process. Our application process is straight forward; all adults (18 or over) who will be living at the property must fill out an application and be on the lease.

Rodney D. ADVANCED - Anyone found a way to lookup current mortgage payoff?
19 May 2015 | 13 replies
I find it curious that a mortgage/note with its $$ value when originated and recorded is public information, but that amount becomes "private" the day after recordation. It's even more appalling, when a bank sells a 2nd mortgage/note at foreclosure, subject to the first, knowing full well there is no way for a buyer to find out what the payoff of the first is.
