The poor get their tax returned, the rich buy luxury items and pay luxury tax, they buy more things paying more in sales tax, they own more valuable property, thus pay more in property taxes, and they earn more so they pay in the highest of tax brackets.Enough is enough.All the morons in CA foolishly passed Prop 30 which increases all our taxes in CA.

There are crane towers everywhere building "luxury" student apartments, and with the new by-law implemented, mom and pops and small investors seemed to be getting squeezed. 

@Jacob Pereira Sorry to revive an older post, but I had the same strategy (FHA instead of VA) but found that since the market is quite competitive now (mid 2016), sellers have the luxury of selecting buyers that use conventional instead of government loans.

You also have a higher loan limit, and can wrap "luxury" renovations into the loan (aka, putting in a Sauna or something).

You have the luxury of options.

There are already luxury condos that broke the $2000 sqft mark..
