Throughout my search I was interested in finding a property that had a larger detatched garage or an ADU already permitted on the property.

I was reading over the permitting process for a vacation home in Nashville.

We exclusively operate in CMX-3+ zoned building and get the visitor accommodation use permit so we luckily havent run into issues.

I am trying to determine what steps are needed to get a unit permitted.

I already have 2 roommates lined up that would rent rooms and finding more if space permits would not be an issue.

Also, when you inquire about this, there is also a chance that the brothers never got a permit for the changes, (new kitchen, bathroom ...etc), so it could backfire on them as well as the town might want to investigate and hit them with a fine for not getting a permit.

Permits can get delayed because of laziness and holidays...

When I pulled up the permits I noticed there was a foundation issue which was repaired by " injecting polyurethane for void fill" by a local foundation repair company.

How do I know what work needs permits.
