I guess if you can get it dirt cheap where downside is limited it might be worth the adventure...but I am not 100% sold on that either.

I've done a bit of reading on it and it looks like one of the downsides is that the current owner could reclaim the property during the redemption period, at which point you will be refunded your money plus interest, but out a property that you were hoping for.

Its a bank owned with a nice lot only downside it the back yard has maybe 50ft of woods then backs up to the freeway.

The downside is that TX has some of the highest property taxes and homeowners insurance rates in the country that eat up alot of your cash flow.
