Also you should get a contract before the following:1) A wedding gift: They are required to send a thank you note and a Christmas card2) Nephews Birthday present: Should be required to call with a "thank you"and dog sit on a future weekend3) Mother asking you to come over for Dinner: She shall be required to sign a contract that she will be making the "Coconut Pineapple upside down cake"4) Elderly neighbor shoveling snow and you help: Should be required to sign a contract that they will wave every time you pass and inform everyone walking a dog that you are a "standup guy"5) Wife makes dinner: Should have you sign a contract that you will be doing dishes every time she cooks.6) A contract should be written stating who is tracking and paying mileage out of their paycheck for doctor visits as well as if she needs to help your parents, siblings, childhood friend and expected compensation.

I dare say a strong financial foundation helps remove the money problem which is a huge relationship pot hole, best avoided.

Two months ago I spoke with Joe Massey with Castle & Cooke and he said they have programs for self employed for people.

More people cooking/sharing a kitchen, more showers being taken affecting hot water consumption, more persons to occupy one of the couches or tvs, more personalities to adapt with and keep consideration for, etc., plus the utilities you mentioned- water, Wi-Fi, shared amenities such as paper towels and soap etc.I’m not trying to be combative, as your point makes sense.

Does this just apply to Chicago or is it Cook County as a whole?

Like some have said on here, it's more about actual qualities: cleanliness, pays on time, excessive use of common space vs I stay in my room mostly, introverts vs extroverts, does someone like to cook a lot (they better clean too!)

Cook county (which includes chicago) is 1k hit for an attorney.

It is everything from blinds, artwork, furniture, pots, pans, silverware to wine openers.
