The thought that politicians are going to open up the flood gates for evictions days after Christmas in the middle of winter seems far fetched. 

Of course it does.Poor politicians. 

Based on Biden's spotty background and career as a politician, don't think we'll see any changes. 

Most high level politicians are wealthy, and/or rely on the wealthy sponsoring them to stay in power.

The politician already tasted this extension without consequence and only thing will realize them is another meltdown in real estate market else free money to tenant sponsored by government against landlord expenses.

If you think that politicians in general and specially  democrat politicians will allow you to evict people based on current law you are wrong very very wrong, for them is not about fairness or rule of law, private property or your business and your families or any of that, is about themselves is about politics.

Loot, vandalize, steal, politicians don't give a crap about non-payment of rent.Screen harder, raise your base requirements, and make no exceptions.

Even if the metro east is a bit cheaper I'll probably avoid it, mainly because of my years living in IL have turned me off to their taxes and crooked politicians.

Like the politician that gets caught red-handed in bed with a campaign aide and is suddenly so repentant and crying crocodile tears over the damage done to his family.
