The outside faucet was also off; when turned on it just dripped a little, so I think the inside main also cut it off and it just hadn't fully drained.

As a result, the pipe was not able to drain properly and once below freezing temperatures came, the pipe burst in the basement.   

@Juan Alvarez i was a first time home buyer so I they allowed me to drain my Roth IRA from when I was young.

My last rental home (room rentals), I was positive $500, but neighborhood went down the drain so I sold it.  

If it's not easily fixable then it's will drain your time and money for a long time and is not worth it.

They will start their foreclosure (If they haven't already) and you'll be at another trustee sale shortly, watching your money go down the drain if you don't pay them off before their sale.

I do plan on purchasing additional properties but it seems to me that paying for closing costs and other lender fees is money down the drain.

We had it pumped yesterday and in addition to being full, the plumber had to auger the line due to back up.

I know it is incredibly hard to drain that emergency fund.
