Something along those lines, pour a relatively small rebar re-enforced footer, jack the floor to proper height then install a 4x  post. remove the jack and let your new post assembly support the weight.

Instead have your council hold it or the title company.The problem with the seller or counsel is they are supposed to return the money but even if the contract says so you have to chase them down or they take forever.When I was assembling land for a developer they always held the EM they put down so they didn't have to chase the sellers for it later even when it was due them contractually.

In terms of immediate priorities, I'm looking to find a lender to get pre-approved, take a drive around the area with an expert to learn the ins & outs, churn through deal analysis in the neighborhoods most applicable to me, and assemble a team so I can move quickly when the right deal presents itself.Thanks for reading through this lengthy post; the first time putting yourself out there is always the toughest :) Hopefully any other lurkers reading this post are encouraged to introduce themselves to the forums as well.
