I just think there is probably no better market in the country to do what you want to do and have the best opportunity for success.

I dont think it is, @Melanie Baldridge feel free to jump in but foreign assets like this usually follow the tax code from that country.

Or hang out at places where people with money go, i.e. nice hotel bars, nice restaurants, country clubs, etc.

Select a larger area that is at least 30 minutes in each direction. with maybe a hand full of exceptions I am pretty sure you would be hard pressed to find a mix that represents the demographic cross section of this country and therefor a wide range of neighborhoods.

For good areas to invest, check out Seminole Heights, University Area, Town 'N Country, and East Tampa, to mention a few.

I'm sure your cost of living is less given you're in the RV, can be mobile (see the country, work remotely) etc.

When I have a client from out of country who I have met for 30 seconds ask me to work for less than my going rate, I decline.
