I've heard about how helpful the forums are and wanted to try posting my situation on here for some tips and guidance.I'm just starting my investing journey and my friend informed me of a house in my area that is about to go to Foreclosure.

If your losses come from passive investments (previously known as tax shelters) - they are restricted by PAL rules.

She invests in real estate herself so she sees both sides as a CPA.

Considering how crazy the real estate market is here in Florida, I've been evaluating alternate means of sourcing potential investment properties, one of those being tax deed sales.

After 3 years and a half of investing my portfolio is still a bit shy of 4M, so again, congrats for your stelar growth. 

I'm looking for underwriting jobs and investment experience/knowledge.

I've read Michael Blank's book: Financial Freedom with Real Estate Investing and have started to do some research on markets I want to invest in. 

Granted, I have already invested thousands of hours already, and invested by making it my career, I just yesterday closed on my first property.

Personally, I invest in SoIN (New Albany, Jeff, etc) and have done really well with my LTRs there.
