At the closing table we were just getting ready to finalize the deal and we came across a bit of a let down.

A property I bought recently not too far from the house you're considering was a short sale and took something in the vicinity of 8 months to finally close, which I think was on the faster side since allegedly the bank had "preapproved" the short sale before the house was listed.

So I've finally gotten around to refinancing this house and the appraisal came back today.
