I don't want to lie, and I understand some people believe that anyone calling from Africa is running a scam.

I encountered @Eric Ng's post and found myself in a similar situation.

The only problem you may encounter is if your tenants decide they do not want to leave and you have to evict.

Nervous about Private Lenders, how do you know they are legitimate and how do you protect yourself from being scammed ??

It is a scam of major proportions.

Is it possible for our friend to own houses through this company and have renters and everything running normal on that front, while in the end being a scam? 

I have sold 30+ million and understand referrals are everything so I do people right am the minority, I would say almost all the pro-forma numbers I read from agents are complete BS pretty much trying to scam buyers. 

By keeping the damage to "rich" ppl the politicians have hedged their bets bc when some nefarious actor comes alone with a scam syndication and walks off with all the LP's cash, the headline risk is low.
