I think you'd be better served to turn the STR unit into a long term rental.

But I always like to point out what I think may be a good alternative for small investors owning less than 5 currently mortgage properties.

I think there is a tendency for people to believe Property managers can make all their problems go away especially in C/D type properties.

The motel we offered on was utilizing Airbnb solely for rooms, and I think there’s good opportunity to utilize STR OTAs and hotel booking sites to bring in customers.

This is such a delusion most people that invest in SFH has and I think it stems from bad BP educators.

I sell houses all the time by just listing them on Zillow, so don't think you need to pay a listing agent and if the buyer doesn't drag their realtor into the mix, you might not need to pay a buyers agent either. this is a cautionary tale of the risks of remote rehab with little to no experience looks good in the book but in practice can be very very difficult.. stick close to home.

I don't think house hacking, at this point due to my family situation would be the best idea but I appreciate the idea!
