When you say you are paying them - is this money going directly to them or into an escrow account?

Hi Everyone, I'm eager to learn from experienced professionals in the Hard Money Lending space.

The home owner has listed the house at 140k, as they do owe 2 years worth of taxes and are eager to sell. 

I read that some were buying the rights of people who are owed money from Lehman Brothers at 100% on the dollar because they think more is actually going to be returned with the UKs required interest, if there is money left over after they pay all their debts.

Their rates are extremely high for new investors compared to other hard money lenders, and they include a lot of junk fees. 

In Tampa there are so many that are done without permits, and it can mislead a beginner into thinking they are getting a great deal when in reality it can be a big headache and money pit to legalize after the fact.
