They steal stupid stuff like people's flip flops. they party late into the night on weekdays. they behave as if residents are there solely to facilitate their good time and buttonhole them for information and directions when they're out walking their pets. they tailgate at the beach access because the hosts are too cheap to pay the association dues. they trespass on resident's property to fish and sightsee then become belligerent when asked to leave. etc etc etc.It really does degrade the character of the neighborhood and the experience of living here during the high season.  

There are vapor barriers that are much tougher than regular felt paper and Tyvek.

@Tristan Roth,I've you have any experience leading a business meeting, you should have the basic foundations already.That said, you may want to be a regular at an existing group first to meet people, maybe find a first deal, etc.My $0.02 ...

But if they really don't want to charge you for it they can use the regular annual gifting limits to get that rent back to you. 

@Joe Capobianco  the regular security deposit should be used to cover any pet damage.

He hosts an REI meetup - actually I think one in Myrtle and one in North Myrtle - so hopefully he can get you some more information.
