Those provisions made it challenging to rent as a vacation rental, as well as for a conventional tenancy.  

I get the standard 2 weeks vacations and holidays every year, but that's not nearly enough.

Some have rented (some have been vacated due to job loss), and some still sit vacant and you can find the occasional "squatter" in these properties.  

In one case, I was out of the country on a family vacation!

With the knowledge I've received here in the forums, meetups, and talking with countless other investors we are under contract on our 4th and 5th vacation rental units in Kihei!

Now I am wanting to be gone more and actually go on a vacation. 

@Matt Ayoub In our portfolio we have 3 vacation rentals in Costa Rica and like to think of that as our FIRE plan B - move to CR where the cost of living is much less, stay in one and live off the rental income of the others.

We were so poor that when we took a vacation, we drove to Florida from Chicago, ate dollar sandwiches at Mcdonalds, slept in the car because we couldn't afford to rent a hotel, and enjoyed the beaches during the day.Anyway, we decided to buy a foreclosed home for about $80k. 

We currently have rental properties here in CO and NM but we've been thinking of trying vacation rentals, specifically in the Lake Conroe area.

Vacation homes on Cape Cod might rent for 100 nights a year if they are lucky.
