First off - I'm total noob so trying to learn a lot.I'm looking to buy a condo or townhouse which I plan on keeping long term as a rental property.From looking at Zillow I noticed that there are some large-ish neighborhoods where there are few to no properties for rent, and others where there are several properties for rent in a condensed area.All things being equal, is it better to avoid areas where there's a high concentration of rental properties?

Hello BP Community, I'm considering entering into a master lease deal for a property that needs renovations in several units.

We had one here (homicide) several tears ago (we knew the family) & the cleanup was about $4,000 & I was amazed the place sold that year for the asking price.

Stay out of the big cities and try to find areas that have several small towns that tend to be fairly close to each other (say 5 or 10 miles each. 

Minutes from bus routes that connects to the train which connects to major parts of the city.Ideal Location - located in a mature neighborhood surrounded by several desirable schools.Near local amenities such as a shopping malls and leisure centers.Home setup is desirable - top level and potential legal basement for dual incomeHome is in rough shape and can add value to it (BRRRR method) which is what I want.Alley and Garage parking.Cons - Located on two main roadsThere is street parking in front of the home (2 lanes of traffic both ways). 

I have owned several and can give you my opinion.

There will be several interest rate hike in 2018 causing a slow down in home affordability.
