My strategy is not necessarily to quit my job, but more looking to build some longterm wealth to eventually retire with.

Real estate is just my hobby and end state insurance plan to keep money coming into door when I retire. 

When we decided to invest in the hi-desert, we were living in LA at the time, so we knew we could take our own personal vacations there when a house wasn't rented, and we could use it to celebrate our birthdays and holidays, and one day we could potentially retire there.

I robbed my retirement in the past and would 100% do that again - I realize this isn’t for everybody. 

I'm curious how many people are: A) flat-out retired so doesn't matter, B)  work locally in, I'm assuming, manufacturing, blue-collar jobs, and other local small business, or C) commuting to and from work in either metro but living there for home price?

Accumulate properties for retirement?

I have family there and it's probably our destination for retirement.  

I began retiring at about 48 and really retired at 52, pretty much got out of the rat race (because I could afford to thanks to real estate)!
