My wife and I are looking into investing in short term rentals in vacation markets surrounding NYC (Catskills, Adirondacks, Poconos, etc) and just wanted to check if anyone here might have some insights they could share.

Leaning towards staying the course and just holding onto it as a long term investment.Let's say I do plan to hold it, what value do I give the CPA for depreciation? 

I am undecided on if I long, medium-, or short-term rental is the best for me.
