Additionally, you never know when paths will cross again maybe not in a working relationship but otherwise and they will remember and try to "settle a score" if there is nothing catastrophic I would chalk it up to a bump you climb on and move on.

As for selling the home to them, I know that they have interest in the home, but I believe their credit scores are not in order, so they can't finance through a bank yet.

If I can give you one solid piece of advice, use your gut and do not be afraid to ask perspective tenant hard questions about there back ground and credit score.

I also have an 800 credit score and send rent auto-payment to my landlords early every month.

If your husband has a higher credit score and better income he might get a better rate. if that is a non-issue then I'd say go for it.
