I am sorry your mother died , your brother got arrested , someone stole your purse , your car broke down , you lost your job , you broke up with your girlfriend , you are behind on your child support . 

The house is currently completely gutted after the last owner (my mother in law) hired someone to remediate a mold issue.

I asked a fraternity brother for help as his mother owned a real estate agency in our area but today I realize that I might have paid a little too much.  

Our income was really low, credit score was pretty garbage and we had nothing in the bank, so we got an FHA loan, co-signed with my mother-in-law and put 3.5% down with a 3.75% fixed interest rate.

I have a 4 bedroom house that I rent by the room (only because I need to house my mother in law) Unfortunately it's been nothing but a headache since it started 4 months ago.

Hey Monte,My wife and I own a duplex as well and are going to be building a house in Park City this fall (house hacking it, building a 4 bedroom house, with a 2 bedroom mother in law, we will rent out the main house) We would love to get together sometime, always looking for the next deal and ways to get it!

My journey brought me back to my home state where I’m currently in the process of brrrring my mother’s house in Merrimack, NH.

My mother has a rental property that she let extended family stay in and they completely trashed the place and didn't pay for a number of months.

There's nothing easy about any of this, although you learn with each deal and make new and exciting, more costly mistakes instead of the same old boring, cheap ones :)My mother is Australian (from Geelong).
