Significantly reducing your mortgage and having a path to a cashflowing asset in a short amount of time is so much better thanost options that you need to think about jumping in sooner rather than waiting for a "Better" deal that may not come.

But it is a minimum, if you want to move in sooner simply notifying them early may get them to move out earlier on their own if they are otherwise responsible tenants, however if they are not they could decide to stop paying rent and make your life difficult.
