I’m interested in getting my toes wet in the world of REI and I believe I can leverage my experience with construction in this career. * I need advice on whether or not an opportunity to help a loved one refinance there home is an investment opportunity or a total red flag.

I'll be starting my new career as a realtor in October.

No way I could have had this career without the license.. but I realize things are different now of course. 

Having options from that standpoint is never a bad thing of course.The goal for most investors is to get into better areas as their investing career progresses and i think that is what you are going through here. 

One or two decent wholesale deals could easily put $10K in your pocket.Meanwhile, it sounds like you already know you should roll your existing QRPs into a SDIRA, which you will eventually need when you shift your investment career into high gear with advanced strategies that will engage your "financial friends" with SDIRAs of their own.

I don't think I have interior design as a career in my future though - I don't like pillows - lol.

My wife and I are newer to the Abilene market due to a career change.
