This storm was larger with more rain than previous storms and I think you will see some very interesting law suits regarding letting water out of reservoirs in Houston (caused many homes to flood that never flooded before) and also Lake Conroe (exacerbated flooding along San Jacinto River).

I think it’s worth expanding on that disclaimer by mentioning that in syndications that specific risk is complete loss of capital, or having your money tied up for years in a lawsuit.

If you're fully managing a property that you don't own, then most states require you to have a broker's license to do that and you can get in trouble if you don't have the right license and insurance (plus expose yourself to a lot of legal liability if anything goes wrong with the property and there is a lawsuit).
