We have around $150k equity in our home and are considering selling and using the cash to move into a property that will give us an opportunity to generate some revenue through house hacking or finding something with a guest house or apartment we could rent out. 

I found them both when doing google searches for multifamily.loan.Realatom.com seems like a startup right out the gate that wants users to pay a one time fee for people to get access to your loan requests. 

What does the MLS offer that Loopnet doesn’t in terms of finding an apartment complex to invest in?

Assuming the apartment passes the inspection, is section 8 going to pay rent to the current landlord or me for December?

After the year I plan on keeping things as is, so that net cash flow can mitigate any rental expense that I myself incur (i pay 525 mo for a 1 bed apartment).Do you guys think its a good idea to get a source of passive income in the midwest (where I currently work), to offset my rental expense, and future rental expense if i ever decide to move to a more expensive area?

The apartment in front of me is vacant and I want to get some tenants in there. 

It doesn't reset (knock on wood) and gives me remote access as I too live far away.

When they give you a rent range, understand that a single family home is on the low end of that range, a townhome is in the middle, and an apartment is on the top end of the range.
