Why save when our 401(k)'s were up an average of 15% a year and we kept upgrading our homes?

Are there very many noticeable changes/added features, or is it basically a speed type upgrade?

These two properties are beautiful and well kept with little to no need for upgrading.

Most of the old landlords that bought properties in the 60s and just kept them did okay, with the buy and hold, but they would have done better if they had dumped many of their properties years ago and "upgraded" their inventory.

But these are the big ticket items that I have (80 percent decided) on doing:Central HVAC ($3,000)Upgrade electric service ($1,000)Replace 60 year old wall oven and cook top ($?

Thought of asking if I put studs on flat...or use 1 X 3 firing strips BUT in any event the extra 4 r value is not continuous, broken by fir or stud.Next problem is new heat ducts are close to blocks in places and NO room for any of this,,,then what???

If the homes you are comparing to yours are superior in quality, you still have an opportunity to make your home worth more by upgrading.

His unit did need about 10K of upgrades/repairs, but after repaired value was 160-170K.
