After six weeks with his new caregiver, he now wants my mother to sign a quit claim deed to the property so he can have the house sold when he dies and proceeds distributed to other people, (mainly his new housekeeper) who has now been successful in alienating my uncle from his whole family.

the KEY, i would say is BUYING BELOW MARKET VALUE...but that's a whole other post...bottom line, if you ain't buying below market, you're not investing, you're...doing what any other schlub can do and probably operating either too close to break even or just in the red period.

that whole tax "incentive" is just the US gov't collaborating with bankers to brainwash the masses into thinking that debt is good!!!!!
