@Leland S.This is going to be very costly and the issue it is not resolving is vibratory noiseHaving built many building there is sound and vibration transmission - you can dampen the sound (again costly) but if it’s hardwood floors or a kid above it’s not going to stop the pounding / jumping .Is this a real issue brought by the tenant?

They ended up selling at a loss and learned a valuable lesson the hard way.If you wouldn't feel comfortable living in the area, then why invest there?

Between a demanding FT job (that I enjoy,) a wife who also works FT, and two young children, I have no real desire to "all in" to real estate as a FT career at this point in my life.

I would imagine that once you set up a payment plan with them, they will turn on the water for the plumbers to do what they need to do.Not sure on the regulations on this but Id also see taking the tenant to court for the balance due on the water bill.Best of luck!

This is assuming things go almost perfectly.

It is unusual that I provide this list.  

This way if we have a disagreement, someone has final say.

Doug, I was in this situation 6 months ago.

@Prashanth Mahakali might know this answer, but otherwise it may be worth talking to an immigration attorney...the last thing you want to do is put your H1B at risk.
