I’d recommend going with a local lender that you have a good relationship with as opposed to a large national company as they are likely to have better immediate customer service and are more likely to respond in a timely manner, which is important for your first loan.

Someone else had posted the same comment a long time ago, it would be worth checking it out to give you an idea.  

I am a contractor , I pull permits for my protection and the customers .  

Go check those areas out back in the 90s.

Check into their BBB rating and real reviews.

I do home improvement projects over weekend for the past three years such as carpet to LVP, wooden duck to composite, game room to bedroom including working with city,  screened porch repair, custom closets, mudroom and some minor projects.

And/or assume that everything is trashed and you have to rehab the entire house.I have bought houses without going inside, but you can usually get on the property and look in some windows. check the roof, exterior siding, main panel, etc and get a pretty good idea of what the house will need.

Tenants are tenants customers are customers.
