Ultimately the appraiser turned this down and stuck by his original valuation.I ended up accepting this as this was the price that I had budgeted and I was worried of wasted time for a similar appraisal later on but this was still a huge pain regardless.

So, in my opinion, they are feeling you out for a discount, in which case, since moving is a pain, there's no reason to give them the discount... unless your rent is on the high side and if they move you will not be able to fill it at the current rate.
