I've only been in my new place for 2 yrs. 2) Anyone could look this up on county records and find out I own the house - pretty easy to do these days. 3) I recently had a prospective tenant seem a bit suspicious about my "property manager" status - he was asking me alot of questions about my company, etc.

So I'm suspicious that some of these remediation companies are playing on this hysterial to charge high prices to want amounts to just normal basement finishing work. 

Ask that they keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, like the sound of breaking glass or strangers lurking around.

Sounds flaky/smells fishy, whichever sense it triggers, it's suspicious behavior to me.I'm very systems oriented in my business and when I look back at when "problems" happened, a lot of them are traceable back to my decision to deviate from my own procedures.

With long term jobs and a decent income that sounds suspicious .  

I am slightly suspicious because the person selling the property is an investor so if it is easy to do then why is he not doing it? 

Lenders may be suspicious why you can't wait for the cash until you sell it. 

Let me say I am suspicious of all sales people.

If someone approached me with this deal - first I would be very suspicious of a scam.

Perhaps there's perfectly valid reasons for what I see as suspicious behavior and I would love to hear some possibilities.
