I want to minimize my leverage as much as I can for my first one, just to give me the best chance of success.

The rental game is funny in that you want to responsible enough to always make rent, but not successful enough to easily afford buying a house.

I’ve had more success filling vacant units by word of mouth/ networking with other agents in my market recently than I have through the typical advertising methods.

To achieve this, I’m planning to scale rapidly by performing a couple of syndications to acquire a larger portfolio.I currently have a portfolio of 17 properties, but to justify labor costs and create a sustainable structure, I need to expand quickly.

I started with a house hack then purchased my own rentals/BRRRRs and now I own a successful 7-figure rental portfolio.

Part of that reassurance comes from bringing some experience to the table and a proven track record of investing successfully.

You'll need to really look at yourself and understand what you do well and enjoy, at the end of the day if you enjoy what you do you'll have more drive be successful everyday.
