I'm definitely going to list on both FF and Airbnb, and although AirBnB instant book is preferred by tenants that could be a scheduling nightmare.

We sold completed the project ahead of schedule and under budget - 116 days from purchase to sale.

As a note, I am active duty military, scheduled to deploy sometime next year, and I have plans to rent out the unit I am staying in once that time comes around. 

Typically, you'll report it on Schedule B (Form 1040), which is used for reporting interest and dividend income.

I know it is alot, but I thought with a open schedule and possible ability to get this property at a discounted price it could bring in some return as I would have an easy tenant and location is perfect. 

This allows you to cash out earlier if needed.Example: You could offer a 30-year amortization schedule with a balloon payment due after 5 or 7 years.

This approach seemed ideal given my demanding schedule.

A lot of places I wanted to look at were gone before I could schedule a showing.  

Which ever home you choose as the main home it will be a tax deduction so it should work out in the long run.Another thing to consider is having two primary homes does not offer a great Schedule E option where you can have the bigger tax shelter.
