But this requires communication to the caseworker/Housing Authority on the landlords part.I find good Section 8 tenants pay their portion religiously because they value that voucher.

The City of Austin does tax STRs with what amounts to a hotel tax and the industry is regulated but in Austin we had a shortage of hotel rooms for the number of huge festivals and other events that take place in the city so the city saw them as a bonus.

REIA groups are truly a "mixed bag" so be careful there, as more often than not they can become "pitch festivals" where everyone speaking is selling a product.
