The water will almost certainly be quite hard unless it's under the influence of surface water, since it's had plenty of time to percolate through the subsurface and pick up mineral content - in that part of the country most people on wells will want a water softener (I lived in Ohio about 100 miles from Indy before, everyone had softeners) which presents another problem since you probably have a septic system and need to find a suitable discharge area for the brine.

@Ashneil Datt it is "usually" two years...but if you just graduated college or got discharged from the military and just started your new job, they can make exceptions along those lines.

Obtain and record (or have the lender do it really) the Discharge of the Mortgage so that the lien is released.

In my experience, the reason for this is because you don’t have enough time left on your military contract for them to have good faith in lending to you without a proof of guarantee that when you get discharged , you won’t have an income within the civilian sector.

Remember, when I refi, I'm only doing at at 75% ARV, so I still have 25% equity left in the property.When I come out of the chute at the end of the year, and land, I want all my cash back and ready to keep moving (fast), and I want to leave behind that minimum of $300/month in CF...along with that 25% equity I haven't touched yet, just in case I want/need to sell it.
