Once they are the winning bidder they hold the property for the 6 months timeline if no one can buy out their taxes and then sell it to get their taxes back out of the property at least what they can.

., each state operates differently but I believe with auction prices you have to actually win the auction and make the payment for the house within a very short time period, likely not enough time to raise money from private money investors or hard money lenders.
