Don't buy in the roughest neighborhood in the urban core.

It's a small city near a large city and I am primarily looking in a student neighborhood by a medium sized public university, which I like for knowing that there will always be renters. 

This is not the fast growth neighborhood for home values in Lou.

The neighborhood *seems* great actually, prices in the area are much higher than this...

This approach would allow for us to save up for the next house while hopefully also building some equity.I would be holding onto this property long-term and buying in a B neighborhood.

My second house I purchased was again the worst in the neighborhood, and it included an inaccessible extra lot that served as it’s backyard.

It’s 2100 sq ft, has a yard, 2 car garage, and are in a really nice neighborhood.

Challenge there is to find homes in the right neighborhoods.

We could actually earn between $100-$200 more per room a month if we rented at the rates going around our neighborhood, but we like to keep it at a price we think is fair and good for students. 

Cheap houses but mediocre neighborhoods.
