Women in the military or civil service were paid the same as the men at their same grade.I have always thought I could go back in time to any era in history, I think the future is more scary.There has always been a bit of paranoia in government among officials and some conspiracy theories, but nothing to the scale of the general population having the distrust of government until after Kennedy was slain.

To go blasting through a damaged area you really need a crew you can count on.Another issue is that government (city) will usually move in quickly, security first, then hazards removed, safety inspections, then the public and owners come in.

It would be a reasonable alternative to waiting to see what government can come up with, although I think there is some issue with getting banks to agree that private insurance will cover the government mandated flood insurance requirement.
