This project has taught me a lot about Solar, energy efficiency, thermal envelopes, and different types of insulation.

There is no way you can sue, but you can ask to have access to your items to remove them and the landlord can be present while you do so to ensure you don't damage the apartment (I'm not saying you would, but that will be of a concern to them).You can try talking to them, but from their perspective, you've lived there for 7 months without paying any rent or utilities and why would they allow you to stay? 

Examples of why they'd want to work with you are: You're an experienced investor and like-minded so your interests are aligned (meaning you will ensure the place is taken care of).

However, there's a balancing act between down payment, interest rates, and loan term to ensure your payments remain affordable for the buyer.

These will likely have slightly less favorable rates/fees in the short term, but may allow you to scale quicker and potentially put less money down-- to leverage your money more efficiently in relation to your REI goals. 

I am ok doing the reading but I would really like to find direction or resources to help me flesh out the strip mall part of the plan in order to more efficiently use my time. 

Unfortunately PMs have no vested interest in ensuring this does not happen...   

@Matthew Mason I would make sure to read your builder contract to ensure you can do what you are planning.

General Market Research of City/ Area ( i.e. demographics, population trends, Crime, vacancy, expected rents per unit type, market values/trends, etc)- To ensure you are buying in a solid market 2.

That is something you really need to be careful on in what investments you choose and ensure you mitigate risks through proper due diligence, education in the investment strategy you choose, & proper team building to accomplish the goal.
