We are discussing creating an LLC to protect our personal interests.

Part of the IRS definition of "separate venture" is that is keeps separate books, so aggregating personal finances with LLC's could result in losing liability protection.

I've started looking into assets protection and came across a wide range of services.

Additionally, there's sensitive systems there that tenants could tamper with that you want protected. 

And it may not be, who knows, but hey you couldn't have known at the time either, and you protected yourself by getting the ball rolling back then (ie, right now), no biggie.There you go!

Would the LLC protection be worth it? 

I want to make sure I have current info.As the title said I am looking for the best method of converting my 401K for Real Estate investing, SDIRA LLC, Texas SDIRA Series LLC or Solo 401K.From everything I have read I am leaning toward the Series LLC but it seems the Solo 401K has some advantages although I am not sure about liability protection. 

Potentially having no or few laws to protect me, puts the risk level too high for me and I'm looking into other avenues to invest my money instead. 

There's nothing inherently wrong with the POH model, it just suffers the same drawbacks that investing in single family homes does.
