I could see them wanting money if the padding or subfloor was damaged but I have never heard of replacing a carpet just based off of a stain on underside (carpet is light brown underside is white)I added a few pictures for an example of a stain they want to replace it for and some top pictures w a close up of the stained underneath areaEssentially my goal is to let them replace it then use the fact they did not attempt to clean it first to win in court if they don’t fold prior to.
